The Face of Hate
Once again, we have a concrete example of elected officials working FOR discrimination rather than protecting citizens. In the wake of another gay teen suicide, Republican State Senator Chris Buttars has introduced a bill in Utah that would repeal the Salt Lake City school board’s recently instituted anti-bullying rules. Buttars anti-gay agenda is quite clear as he refers to homosexuality as “sexual perversion.” His collusion with anti-gay groups would be laughable, save that this group called the anti-bullying and non discrimination policies a “Socialist and Communist plot to take over children.” Buttars and his homophobic cronies are pushing a culture of hate–this is not why we elect civil servants. Is it just me, or does he look like he should be muttering “My precious…”? I guess that’s apt, since he probably wants to snatch away people’s rings, too.
Lex, what makes your comment so hysterical is that when I found that photo of him, Robert commented that he looks just like Gollum.
Not a huge surprise from a state that wants to be a theocracy. Too bad they don’t go after child abuse (readily recorded in Utah’s many polygamist cults) with the same vigor. Who cares if children are being brainwashed and sexually abused under the guise of religion so long as people with the same genitalia aren’t making out!
