As Chick-Fil-A continues to spew its ugly venom at the LGBTQ community, The Jim Henson Company has said ENOUGH to hate and has broken ties with the homophobic fried chicken Dwarf House. Chick-Fil-A has a long-standing history of bigotry and homophobia; it is nice to see the Jim Henson Company demonstrate integrity by divorcing themselves from the squawker of oppression.
Henson Company released the following statement regarding the termination of the relationship:
The Jim Henson Company has celebrated and embraced diversity and inclusiveness for over fifty years and we have notified Chick-Fil-A that we do not wish to partner with them on any future endeavors. Lisa Henson, our CEO is personally a strong supporter of gay marriage and has directed us to donate the payment we received from Chick-Fil-A to GLAAD. (http://www.glaad.org/)
TSM also has to give kudos to Boston Mayor Thomas Menino for his strong stand by vowing to not allow the chicken peddlers to open a franchise in Boston. With each voice and each act of integrity, we move toward equality and leave those that oppress us on the wrong side of history!

Nice, one reason why I love the Muppets!!!!
Me too!
I would have loved to have seen Ms. Piggy give Chick-Fil-A a piece of her mind.
Oh, Jamie! I, too, would love to see that scene. Chick-Fil-A does not stand a chance against our Ms. Piggy!
Yay Muppets! I knew I liked those guys!
Nice to see that our Muppets have integrity and character!
Go Henson family and company! Also, go Mayor Menino! I think I have a new hero!
Impressive, aren’t they?
This gay marriage issue is getting out of control and it’s awesome to see people step out and shout that this is a Civil Rights issue. As a straight Christian male, I fully support gay marriage 100%, and someone’s beliefs should never, ever, come before Civil Rights.
Marriage was not created by God, it was created by the human race. Maybe God digs it and smiles down upon those who get married, but that applies to everyone I bet, since he was our creator. It existed hundreds of years before Christianity and this is very well known amongst historians. Not only that, It’s not a Christian practice, even though we do celebrate it ourselves. Buddhists, Atheists, Agnostics and so on, are all beautiful people, and they too get married.
I don’t want my children to know that I was on the wrong side of the history books. Please realize that not all Christians are against gay marriage. I know it’s easy to label us that way, be there are tens of thousands of us, including our president Barack Obama, who fully support such an issue.
20-30 years from now we will looks back at this, just like we do now on racism, women’s rights and other Civil Right issues and wonder – what the heck were some of us thinking? I’m proud to say, I will ask it, but won’t have to answer why – because I refuse to be one of those people.
I’m out.

Daniel,
Wow! What an eloquent and beautifully stated comment. Thank you. Thank you also for being an ally and for realizing the power of history. Your children are exceedingly fortunate to have you as a dad! Again, many thanks.
