As I was reading Jeremy’s blog this morning, I stumbled upon a link that took me to an article in The Atlantic Wire. The article was about Republican Andrew Breitbart. I read several articles on Breitbart, all of which make him look like a rich, entitled white boy. What I found distressing is his language about including gays in the Republican party:
We’re going to have a big ol’ gay party,” he said on a radio show Wednesday. Breitbart says gays deserve a place within the Republican Party and he’s been “offended” by efforts to exclude them. Therefore, he’s throwing an 80’s-themed gay party to welcome them on board.
Well, that sure is mighty white of you Mister Breitbart. Oh wait, you followed it up with these comments:
I am not endorsing gay marriage, I’m not endorsing Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell. I will be the harshest critic of the activist gay left, who I fear more than al-Qaida.
So you have just now said you fear gay folk more than extreme terrorist. Help me again how any self respecting gay person can be a Republican. See the full article here.
there will be no women and a token black at the big ol’ gay party. what i don’t understand is the ’80’s theme…was that a particularly gay time? how could he not want the gays? if more republicans were gay, they could all have marvelous wardrobes and control the weather.
michael, i don’t mean to be silly about this subject, but i don’t understand these people. this man constantly seems to contradict himself–he’s offended by efforts to exclude gays, but he’s condescending towards them. he fears the gay left, but has a place for the gay right. he doesn’t support gay marriage or dadt. what a boob. a wishy-washy boob.
Jenny, I am truly baffled by this man and even more baffled by any minority that supports a party of oppression.
