I admit that I don’t quite understand how any minority could identify as a Republican. I find it even more disturbing when a minority not only identifies as a Republican but then promotes bigotry. Herman Cain seems to be running on a platform based on how proud he is to be a bigot! I guess I just expect better from those of us that have experienced, or have a history of being discriminated against. The former Godfather’s Pizza CEO said, when asked if he would ever appoint a Muslim to his cabinet:
No, I would not. And here’s why. There is this creeping attempt, there is this attempt to gradually ease Sharia law and the Muslim faith into our government. It does not belong in our government. This is what happened in Europe. And little by little, to try and be politically correct, they made this little change, they made this little change. And now they’ve got a social problem that they don’t know what to do with hardly.
Not only is Cain out of touch with reality, but he is using the same old tired technique of Fear Mongering to garner support. Really? Is this the type of person you want interacting with the rest of the world? Cain is the epitome of the cliche of the cloistered and ignorant American. Surly the GOP can do better than Herman Cain. Unfortunately, Newt, Trump, et al. don’t look any better. Click here to see the video and read the full article.
Wait… what European country as Sharia law? I missed that on yesterday’s BBC..
🙂
What a detached, out-of-touch and backwards thing to say. The GOP is continuing to isolate itself from minorities, which is fine by me, but it’s also very, very sad to see people so persistent in their bigotry.
Cory, it does seem that the GOP continues to prove how out of touch and isolated it is.
