Bigot of the Week Award: April 29

Bigot of the Week

Wow! Talk about an embarrassment of riches this week.  Of course, all of the “birthers” get a dishonorable mention this week, with a special shout out to Orly Taitz and Donald Trump.

Oklahoma’s Republican controlled House of Representatives passed a constitutional amendment eliminating Affirmative Action in state government.  But wait! It gets worse.  Sen. Sally Kern (R) said “blacks” just don’t work as hard as whites:

… minorities earn less than white people because they don’t work as hard and have less initiative.

We have a high percentage of blacks in prison, and that’s tragic, but are they in prison just because they are black or because they don’t want to study as hard in school? I’ve taught school, and I saw a lot of people of color who didn’t study hard because they said the government would take care of them.

I would say that Sen. Sally Kern most certainly earns this week’s BWA.  Click here to read the full article.

Yeah, they don’t work hard enough to…oh, say, develop our agrarian economy for close to a hundred years with absolutely no compensation and nothing but false promises. (That whole 40 acres and a mule thing). They don’t work hard enough takin’ care of kids, driving Miss Sally, or serving your food because the great, generous white daddy will take care of them. Nor do they work hard enough to become president. (cough) Un-expletive-real!

Steph, I see you are allowing FACTS to get in the way of your thinking here. Oklahoma, a la Bachmann, can’t be concerned with facts.
