Cheaper by the Dozen: Hypocrisy in Arizona

Love Defines a Family

Thanks to my friend Jen Lockett for inspiring this story.  You know Arizona, home to Jan Brewer and John McCain. Hard to believe in a gun carrying, bigoted, homophobic state like Arizona one could find a gay couple raising 12 children.  Despite  the McCain’s adamant opposition to gay adoption and the legal ban passed in 2008 that makes it illegal for marriage equality, Steven and Roger Ham are raising their 12 adopted children.  Do I think Steven and Roger are a bit crazy? YES!  I can’t imagine how hard it must be to raise 12 kids and keep your sanity.  Do I have an amazing amount of respect and look at them with awe for adopting these 12 kids, YES!  My hope is that after the Rapture today, the Ham family can have more space and take over some of their neighbors’ houses.  Unfortunately, the Ham family is up against a great amount of hate in Arizona, including the gun toting, gay hating,  governor, Jan Brewer.  I just want to underscore that families come in all sizes and shapes and ultimately it is LOVE that defines a family.  Wow, Déjà vu–I’m brought back to the exact same conversation that helped bring down President Bush Sr. and Dan Quayle’s attack on Murphy Brown.  I suspect that Ben Quayle feels right at home in Arizona. I wonder what Quayle and Bush Sr. would say about the non-fictional character of Arnold Schwarzenegger?  Click here to see the full story.

Clearly demonstrates homosexual unions corrupt American families. As we know, no “normal” family could function with 12 children…
