Kudos to the Federal Reserve During Gay History Month

6 Jun

Thanks to my friend Jen Lockett for inspiring this story.  For those that follow TSM, you know we are celebrating LGBTQ History Month in June.  I am elated to tell you that the Federal Reserve is part of this celebration, much to the dismay of the loud, bigoted conservatives in our nation.  Republican Robert G. Marshall of Delaware exposed his bigoted views with his letter of protest to the Federal Reserve:

…adds significantly to illness, increases health costs, promotes venereal diseases, and worsens the population imbalance relating to the number of workers supporting the beneficiaries of America’s Social Security and Medicare programs.

Really?  Are you that ignorant Rep. Marshall?  If anything, much of the LGBT community help with population control and thus help  with the drain on health care costs.  Of course, we must not forget the additional drain on health care caused by homophobes such as yourself.   Jim Strader, a spokesperson for the Federal Reserve in Virginia, released the following statement: “The flag is an example of our bank’s commitment to diversity.”  Click here to see the full article.
