While I hate to give her any air time, Sarah Palin claims to be a feminist while bad mouthing feminists past and present. She claims that Gloria Steinem used to be a hero of hers and can’t understand why Steinem did not like her. Gee, do you think it was because you preach hate against the LGBTQ community, you are anti-choice, you have not read the constitution, you are a functioning illiterate that shows blatant contempt for anything intellectual? Have you ever read any of Steinem’s works? Have you read any Betty Friedan? Do even know who Victoria Woodhull and Elizabeth Cady-Stanton are? Women like Lucretia Mott, Julia Howe, and Alice Paul paved the way so women could have the right to vote, hold positions of power, run for President, or vice president and you have the unmitigated chutzpah to hold them in contempt. You ungrateful piece of hell! Irony of ironies, you like the Famous Idiot Dan Quayle take pot shots at the fictional character Murphy Brown as a terrible role model for having a child as a single woman, but your daughter, Bristol, is a great role model for making the same decision? Why? Because Brown’s creator Diane English trumpeted Brown’s decision as an empowering lifestyle choice, while Bristol has the good sense to go out and “tell other young girls, ‘Don’t do what I did.'” Are you serious? People listen to you because? See the full article in BitchMedia.

The only thing that can possibly make Sarah Palin a “feminist hero” in my mind is the fact that Laura Schlessinger (“Dr. Laura”) hates her as she works outside the home while having young children.
that’s pretty much it. However, by that definition, anyone that is an atheist, democrat, non-evangelic or orthodox jew, non-ultra traditionalist, a person of color, a member of the LGBTQ community, people who haven’t fought in the military, etc are all feminists….
Jen, I love this! Of course, I’ve always thought Palin and Schlessinger have a great deal in common.
